Getting to Halifax, Hotels, and the Convention CentreMost delegates will arrive through Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), the region’s main gateway and Atlantic Canada’s busiest airport. Conveniently located just 25 minutes from downtown, it’s an easy and stress-free trip into the city no matter how you choose to travel. By Taxi or RideshareThe simplest option is to step outside the arrivals hall and hop in a taxi — fares are regulated at a flat rate of about CAD $65 to downtown hotels. Uber also operates in Halifax, with pricing similar to taxis. Both options will take you directly to your hotel door in around half an hour. By ShuttleFor those who prefer a shared service, the Maritime Bus shuttle runs regularly between the airport and several downtown stops, including hotels within walking distance of the Halifax Convention Centre. It’s a cost-effective and reliable way to travel, especially if you’re arriving with colleagues. By Public TransitIf you’re packing light and want the most economical option, the MetroX Bus 320 connects the airport with downtown Halifax. For just $4.25 CAD one-way, you can ride directly into the city centre in under an hour. The final stop leaves you a short walk from most conference hotels and the Convention Centre. Arriving by TrainDelegates traveling within Canada can also arrive via VIA Rail service from Montreal and central Canada. The Halifax station is located on the downtown waterfront, just minutes from the Convention Centre by foot or taxi. Arriving by CarIf you’re driving, Halifax is connected by Highway 102 from the airport and Highway 103 from the South Shore.
