STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS FOR CNS*08
Limited funds to support student travel to CNS*08 in Portland are available.To be eligible for a travel grant, a student must currently be a graduate student or an undergraduate student who is the presenting (first) author on a paper that has been accepted by the Program Committee for the Portland meeting. Grants will be awarded based on the quality of the paper as judged by the Program Committee.Students should note that the travel grants are intended only to defray some of the costs of travel to the meeting, and it is important to acquire additional funding to cover the bulk of the costs for attending the meeting. Also, where applicable, students should investigate visa requirements for entering the United States and allow sufficient time to obtain a visa.To apply for a travel grant send an e-mail requesting a grant to travel@cnsorg.org. The e-mail must contain (1) your name, (2) the country from which you will be traveling, (3) the name of your institution, (4) the name of the faculty person with whom you work, and (5) the title of the paper that you have submitted.Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail shortly after the Program Committee has notified authors of the acceptance of their papers.
VISA INFORMATION
If you are planning to attend the CNS*2008 Meeting in Portland, adequate time should be allowed for processing visa applications. Applicants should initiate the process as early in their travel plans as possible. Information regarding U.S. visa policies is available online at travel.state.gov and www.unitedstatesvisas.gov .OCNS does not get directly involved in the visa application process. However, If you require a letter of invitation in order to attend the CNS*2008 Meeting, send an e-mail to travel@cnsorg.org .
